Susan Randall Bradrick Memorial Award

About the Award

The Susan Randall Bradrick Memorial Award was established in 2019 to honor the memory of dedicated Harvey County United Way board member and volunteer, Susan Randall Bradrick.

During her nine years as a member of the board of directors, she held the positions of Chair of the Board and Chair of the Community Investment Committee. Susan also served more than two decades on the Community Investment Committee (formerly known as Allocations), helping to invest millions of donor dollars into the Harvey County community in the form of grant funding. Her work promoted long-term change for the residents of Harvey County, Kansas.

The Susan Randall Bradrick Memorial Award is:
  • Awarded to a Harvey County United Way Partner Organization;
  • a one-time cash gift ranging from $250.00 to $500.00;
  • recommended by the Community Investment Committee at the conclusion of the annual grant review process and forwarded to the Board of Directors for a final decision;
  • may be given to one or more organizations in any given year, contingent on the availability of funds.
Eligible Partner Organizations must meet at least one of the following criteria:
  • Maximizing return on investment of grant dollars in the community;
  • Demonstrating improvements based on feedback from the Community Investment Committee and/or Board of Directors;
  • Making other significant strides to advance the Mission of Harvey County United Way.

The award recipient is responsible for participating in marketing activities as determined by Harvey County United Way (ie. check presentation, news release, social media postings, etc). Harvey County United Way uses this information to publicize the award, encourage donors to contribute and inspire other Partner Organizations in their work.
