Manager of Community Impact

 

Accountability:                         This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Objective:                                  In conjunction with the Executive Director, the Manager of Community Impact will work to build relationships with community leaders and other nonprofit agencies to further the mission of Harvey County United Way. This position is generally responsible for United Way’s community engagement, partnership building, program implementation, and evaluation of results.

                                                                              

 

Duties

 

Programming

  • Provide and lead collaborations in the focus areas of health, education, and financial stability.
  • Set impact goals that lead to community results and advocate for change.
  • Responsible for data collection of community needs and identification of best practices to ensure community engagement and partnerships are aligned, comprehensive, and efficient to meet outcomes.
  • Lead the Harvey County Childcare Task Force and implement the strategies developed in partnership with the Task Force.
  • Assist with the facilitation of United Way’s volunteer manager group, maintain the Volunteer United website and manage United Way volunteers.

 

Community Outreach

  • Represent United Way on various local coalitions to stay apprised on issues and activities related to our work and strengthening the community.
  • Produce reports on health, education, and financial stability topics.
  • Organize outreach efforts to recruit volunteers for Volunteer United.

 

Fundraising

  • Participate in grant writing opportunities.
  • Assist with grant reporting when necessary.
  • Assist in the solicitation of contributions from corporations, individuals, and foundations.

 

Qualifications and Core Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in nonprofit work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Strong administrative, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Initiative, self-discipline, and the ability to work without supervision.
  • Dependable and reliable to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with community leaders demonstrating a blend of leadership presence and cooperative work style.
  • Capacity to help determine community needs.

 

Salary: $45,000 per year

 

Working Conditions

The manager of community impact is a full-time exempt, salaried employee of Harvey County United Way, Inc.  Normal workweek is Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and allows for flexibility in schedule.  However, some meetings and/or special events require time outside the regular workweek. This position may require travel throughout Harvey County and across the state of Kansas for monthly meetings with funding organization.

 

Disclaimer

This position is dependent on the receipt of pending grant funding and will be for one year. The expected start date is October 1, 2024, with an end date of September 30, 2025. However, this position may be extended if funds are raised during the initial year of employment.
