Planned Giving

Planned gifts make a lasting, positive influence on the future of Harvey County United Way. If you’re a current or past donor of the United Way, you may consider the next step in your legacy by providing a planned gift that can be used in one of the focus areas of Education, Health, Income or Literacy.

There are many ways you can make a planned gift – and because you are not making a gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind at any time.

Two of the simple ways to support the United Way are:

  • A gift in your will, called a bequest, is an easy and convenient way to contribute. You can donate a specific amount of money or a percentage of the remainder of your estate.
  • You may also consider using retirement-plan assets, such as an IRA, 401(k) or 403(b) to make a lasting impact on Harvey County United Way. Your retirement-plan assets are likely a significant portion of your net worth, and because of special tax considerations, they could make an excellent choice for funding a charitable gift.

If you are looking for another way to continue to support Harvey County United Way without spending anything today, you can include a legacy gift in your will. You gift will ensure we can continue work in Harvey County this year, and for years to come. Begin your legacy today.

If you have already included Harvey County United Way in your estate plans, please let us know. We would appreciate the opportunity to thank you for your generosity and to help make sure your intentions are carried out properly.

Establishing a memorial in honor of a loved one is a loving tribute to a lifetime of dedication to the community. Harvey County United Way maintains two funds managed by the Central Kansas Community Foundation. Both funds produce interest revenues in the form of the annual distribution. This renewable funding is an attractive option for donors wanting to make long-term impact in the community.
