Dalton Black, MA
Executive Director

Dalton joined Harvey County United Way as Executive Director in September 2020. After finishing his degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from Wichita State University, he started his career in the nonprofit sector. Dalton wore a number of hats in the early part of his career from receptionist to community outreach coordinator until he finally landed a role in fundraising.

As Executive Director, he gets to work in all aspects of the organization. One of his favorite things about his work is connecting people with issues that matter the most to them, and providing support for those in need. He believes that when we mobilize members of our community we can create real change. Dalton is happily married and together they have three children, two dogs and two cats.

Sheila Kelley, MA
Development Coordinator

Sheila has been in Kansas for a little over three years after her retirement from Colorado State University where she served as Extension Director and 4-H Youth Development Agent for 11 years. She was born with a servants heart and has always enjoyed, and been challenged by, making a positive impact on children, families, and communities.

She is a journalist by training and trade and has worked closely with numerous nonprofits organizations to help them be succussful and sustainable. She and her husband, John, live in Marion with a menagerie of rescued felines! They have three children and two grandchild living in the area.

Curtis Allen
Community Services Coordinator

Curtis has been a Community Health Worker with KUMC under the COPE program for the past year. He recently joined the staff at Harvey County United Way as Community Services Coordinator. In this role, Curtis builds relationships with organizations in the community and connects people in need with the different resources in Harvey County available to help them. Curtis enjoys meeting new people with kindness and compassion, and finding out how he can help them with their needs in the community.

Curtis’s background is in sales and marketing where he learned many communication skills. Curtis and his wife have lived in their home in Newton for the past 14 years. He enjoys cooking, smoking foods on his smoker, and spending time with family and friends.
